All Apprentices must register as a student at TBD once they have passed the apprenticeship interviewing session. The interviewing session is composed of an oral assessment by the apprenticeship council followed by a physical, practical testing and a basic kitchen quiz.

Tuition to College (TBD) is paid for by the California Dept of Industrial relations. As an apprentice and member of the local American Culinary Federation (ACF) Chefs de Cuisine Assn of San Diego you will be responsible for paying your membership fees to the ACF.

The Chefs de Cuisine Assn of San Diego Education Foundation (CDCEF) is the overseer and funding entity for the apprenticeship program while the ACF Chefs de Cuisine Assn of San Diego (CDC) is the local ACF sponsoring chapter. The CDCEF will help defray some cost but is not geared to paying all of the fees an apprentice will encounter.
